Thanks Heavens! At long last, Africans are beginning to have a glimpse
of the demise of gerontocracy--this oligarchy of senile, golden-agers
who continue to cling unto power against popular mandate.
I particularly like this quote from the article, not only because it
is weighty but also because political novices like the ones in my
native land of Cameroon could learn a lesson from it:
"... more than a dozen other contenders had united behind Mr. Sall,
urging their followers to vote for the challenger..."
