Well, I finally have the money to go to the doctor and have my blood
tests done to check for Hypothyroid. I have tested "low normal" before,
whatever that means. There are many autoimmune diseases in my family
history including lupus and rheumatoid athritis and my sister has been
diagnosed hyperthyroid and with Graves. Can anyone give me some advice
on what specific tests to ask for. I have just turned 33 and My symptoms
are fatigue, extremely low body temperature, heavy menstrual periods,
weight gain, dry skin. I have also had several problems with hives and
shingles in the past three years. I am experiencing problems with
insomnia. . .These symptoms have been occurring for the past five years.
What is a full thyroid panel? Any and all advice would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks, Sallette

P.S. My appointment is with my GP who is an excellent doctor who takes
the time to ask questions and explain things
