It's different for everyone. Some, like my mother, never notice any
symptoms at all, just one day they realize it's been a long time since
they had a period, and others, like myself, start experiencing symptoms
in the 30s and it continues until menopause finally happens. The
average age of menopause for women in the U.S. is 52.
