Hi,
I am on Armour (actually the generic form of Armour).  It is prescribed by my
MD and is a prescription medication.  What you are confused about is that
most endos prefer Synthroid and won't prescribe Armour (which is made from
pig, not cow).  I have been on Synthroid twice and Armour twice and
definitely feel better with Armour.  My doctor is a general practitioner with
a wholistic bent.
