Ah yes, I've hit that one too, and on some Dells, even when you turn the
ports back on, they don't always work reliably. We had one worker in our
call center that had an old Power Braille 40, and every once in a while for
no explicable reason on the Dell computers it would just experience a
momentary break in connectivity. We finally got her a Focus 40 and she has
been happy ever since.

I've had a few issues with getting DEC Express to work on some of those
machines--if you screw around with it long enough, it happens, but what a
pain in the chair cushion!

But I've also had it with all of the crap that Dell pollutes the operating
system with that you have to spend a half a day removing from the system
before you get started. I've gone to buying locally built machines because
I can get exactly what I want on the machine, I get all of the drivers
instead of someone's cheesy restore disk, and I get a full copy of Windows
rather than someone's factory load. Can you tell yet that I don't have any
use for Dell?
