Kevin (K7RX) has also suggested this.  I assume you put a connection on one 
of the screws on the mic stand, and then connect the other end to the Ts480 
ground screw?

Might be a bit awkward at times, but it's sure worth trying.

The thing is that the problem is very intermittent.
