Check to see if that CB has a PA system feature. Some do
and it is possible it is on which makes the mike audio come
right out through the speaker. If it is, find out how to turn it
off. The transmitter should not work when in this mode.
Some of the older CB's used to use the modulator in this
way since it is a 2.5 watt audio amplifier.
Just a thought.
