I just started using the software last Thursday for the N3FJP Field Day
log. I purchased the whole suite, but I haven't had time to play with
the general log or any of the others. Based on what I've done so far,
using JAWS, I found that JAWS read the Call, Class, and Section fields
fine and the Wave files didn't add to the information I got. However, I
discovered (partly with sighted help) that if you use the log for more
than one band during a contest, the program recognizes a call that
you've worked on another band, and it immediately fills in the class and
section for you. In one sense, this is handy, but JAWS doesn't tell you
that. Furthermore, the program behaves differently than most with
populated fields. My experience is that, normally, when you tab to a
field, if there's data in it, it's already highlighted. So, if you
started typing new data in it, it automatically replaces the data that
was in there. In the situation I'm describing, when you type a call in
that you've already worked on another band, class and section get
populated. You tab to Class, thinking it's empty, and so you type in
the Class. But since the field isn't already highlighted, the new data
gets added to the data, so now you have an invalid Class.
I want to try figuring out something, too, with Hot Spot Clicker
or Windows Classification to make the list of stations already worked
come up as a list box. In the short time I worked with the program, I
could only access the list of stations worked with the JAWS cursor, and
it was pretty cloodgey.
I'd be interested in any other experiences, pro and con, folks
have had with the N3FJP logging software.

Richard,
I don't use the software but did run the demo a few years back I
think
using the .wav files is the way to go to make the program more blind
friendly.
I do use a few of the .wave files along with another contest logger.
If
you download the files,, be prepared to fall in love with Scott's XYL
Kimberly.
