I missed out on the beginning of this thread.  What type of phone?  There are 
some decently accessible 5.8GHz cordless models from Panasonic.  At least, it 
has talking caller ID.  There is only one Panasonic that I know of where the 
contacts directory talks, and I think that is a 2.4GHZ model.

    There is no such phone.  Recently I did some searching among the bigger
phone companies and came up empty handed.

    I want to go to 5.8gHz or DECT and get a 2 handset system.  Nothing that
is blind friendly exists.
