Bill,
We've all done something that makes us wonder where our heads are; or 
makes us know exactly where they are!!!  i believe you are a new THF6 
user - it is a wonderful handheld but there is a learning corve.  And 
you may even be a new ham.  Stick with it my friend - it's a great 
hobby and the dumbass things we do to ourselves are funny, but not 
quite just yet!!
