Tom,

In my opinion, these kind of accessories cost far more than they should. 
Unless you're good at making things, you either come up with a makeshift 
solution or bite the bullet and pay for the panel.  I paid $60 for a mobile 
bracket for my Icom R-75 so I could mount it on the underside of a shelf. 
If I knew someone with the right tools, I probably could have had one made 
for $5, and would have gladly paid double that.  I guess there are enough of 
us who are willing to pay the high price, or they couldn't sell this stuff.
