I read about one guy (sounds like something I'd do). Anyhow he was 
reprogramming his radio with his laptop and in the middle of the 
procress of upgrading the firmware, the laptop battery died.  He never 
could get the radio to come back.  I think he sent it off to Kenwood, 
but don't know if they were able to fix it or what it cost him.  I had 
two Kenwood hts, think the d7a, and I somehow got them in some mode 
playing with sky command where they wouldn't reset or anything.  I had 
to send both of them off to Kenwood.  This stuff can get a little 
tricky.
