I'm wondering if the bias is set wrong. If anyone's done any mods to the 
radio at all, I can't find them. When I got it I had to tighten up the 
SO-239 connector on the back and in doing that I pulled the hole radio apart 
and there's nothing in there that's obviously been messed with other than 
the tubes have obviously been changed but there's nothing anywhere in there 
that suggests much if any other work, no sloppy soldering jobs or anything 
that looks like it was done besides original. Nothing cut, it really looks 
original in there.
