Yes, I use a P2000 CW SWR meter.  You need something between the rig and the 
tuner to read SWR.

Some rigs with built-in SWR meters, you could hook up an audible VCO and read 
it that way.

  Do any of you guys use an external antenna tuner that has to be adjusted
manually and if so, how do you go about tuning it?  I have an automatic
tuner but I would like to know more about manual tuners and how to adjust
them. I am like many of you guys, totally blind.  Thanks much,
