Steve, thanks much for the the good info that you have just given to me.  In 
the past I have always used the radio drive power but I have wondered about 
the ALC and how to adjust it.  I have an old Alpha 78 that I run in the no 
tune position so all I have to do is make sure my standing wave is OK and 
set my radio drive power.  I usually run barefooted anymore but sometimes I 
use the amplifier.  Seventythree,
