Well it has been a long time since I did this sort of thing, but
shouldn't a counterpoise be a bit longer than the driven element. Back
when I was experimenting with this stuff, and it really made a
difference, I had an inverted v on 80 with center on my 80 foot tower.
I put the counterpoise as I recall, .2 of a wavelength below and made it
5 percent longer, just like a reflect er on a 2 element beam. Just my 2
cents worth.
