The ic746 discussion has been rather interesting.  Since I haven't used 
either the ts2000 or the ic746 I'm wondering what is involved with the set 
up options?  Although you can't use the menu, are there many things that 
aren't set and forget or better yet just use the default?
As for pl tones, I "suspect" I'd try using software to set repeater 
frequencies and tones with either radio.  I have an old but quite usable 
at500 and ic2kl which would probably work better with an icom radio which is 
why I am curious.
