There's no raised marking on my plug, which is part of the problem. ... I 
have no real way to tell which way the plug should go in, at least as far as 
I can tell.

So, I have to kind of turn it around and work with it, until I get it in the 
jack correctly, which is probably how I got into my little problem earlier 
today.

I never push in with a great deal of pressure, but the pins on the connector 
seem to bend quite eassily.  Complicating things further is the fact that 
the jack on the radio is at a strange angle.
