Thanks to all who answered my urgent request! The summary of OTC gas
remedies is as follows:
> I take Phazyme with no
>ill effects. I did call the co. and they assured me it was GF.
******
>You might like to try "Ovol 80", In Canada, it's produced by Horner.
>Active ingredient: simethicone; non-medical ingredients: cellulose,
>sucrose, talc, gelatin, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, flavour.
>It's OTC. The big box of 50 tablets is considerably cheaper than smaller
>packs.
******
>Before I learned that if I avoided gluten I would have no gas problem, I
>used chlorophyl capsules with pretty good success. You can get the stuff at
>health food stores. I think the chlorophyl itself is pretty benign. I
>never observed any bad side effects.
>
>There is also the prescription medication Bentyl. It is an antispasmodic.
>I don't like to use it because it has pretty strong sedative effects. But
>sometimes when I eat the wrong food and my gut rebels, I take 1/2 of a 5 or
>10 mg pill and it helps.
********
>This is probably too late but I use Zantac without any problems.
********
>Zantac works for me.
********
As it was, I ended up using the Phayzime (hoping I wasn't adding to
the injury), and took my prescription Zantac at bedtime. By morning, all
things considered, I was feeling pretty good.
Thanks so much for all your kind responses, you all are great!
