In listmembers' experiences, how long does one have to be on a
gluten-free diet for Rx absorption to improve?

I was tested for celiac disease largely because of poor absorption of my
synthroid meds--had gotten up to a very high dose based on TSH and free
T4 blood tests. I've been on the GF diet for 5 weeks now and my thyroid
requirements haven't changed yet (that is, my free T4 still registers as
normal rather than elevated). I wouldn't expect a change in the TSH
level at this point, because it tends to lag about a month behind.

Am I just being impatient in wanting to see results in 5 weeks? How long
is realistic?
