From the archives, first private post-natal posting was:

"Subject: Hello
From: Ken Follet <[log in to unmask]>
Reply-To: BULLAMANKA-PINHEADS
<[log in to unmask]>
Date: Tue, 28 Oct 1997 17:33:28 -0500

"Hello from Bullamanka-Pinheads 10/28/97"

presumably a test message followed by the rapid posting of several
installments of the Gab and Eti series.

Second posting presumably after being joined by a few bodies
(conscripts, more than likely) was:

"Subject: Hello
From: Gabriel Orgrease <[log in to unmask]>
Reply-To: BULLAMANKA-PINHEADS The historic preservation free range.
Date: Tue, 4 Nov 1997 15:41:47 -0500

"So say something already ;)"....

First posting from someone other than the founder was:

"Subject: List of Bidders
From: Mark Sherman <[log in to unmask]>
Date: Wed, 5 Nov 1997 00:13:28 -0500

"Gabriel and Etiorpha Orgrease
Biffy and Barn Conservators
Bullamanka, NY

"Dear Gab and Eti:

"Lardoz Contracting Inc. would be honored to be included on your
prefered
list of bidders. We specialize in lard and tallow blasting, application
of bee renderings, and the abatement of bat guano, carpenter ant frass,
and muffin crumbs.

"References available upon request.

"Rusty Lardoz
Emerald City, OZ"

See archives for Gab and Eti serial to grasp bidder specializations:

Thanks to leakage and email account changes, the oldest continuous BP
subscriber is... well... old Larry, good ol' [log in to unmask], dated
10 Nov 1997.

In second place, as probably the longest surviving subscriber of "Bing!
You've Got Mail" America On Line and still a member of BP is
[log in to unmask], 3 Jan 1998. Clearly a survivor on all counts.

dan cough cough it sure is dusty down here in the bowels of the
storehouse becker

PS: it is good to have new blood; welcome Larry and Deborah. Have you
heard? Preservationists are joining the Masonic order in droves because
the buildings are cool and they want to ensure that they survive. And
when they get there, they find great mysteries await them.
