I don't know whether the threat to send the SIC to his farm to "Buddi Mbankanaso" or to call the PIU on the SIC did the trick, but did he get them to do his bidding!
"The Gambia Supreme Islamic Council (GSIC), has ordered both the print and electronic media outlets in the country to stop all programmes propagating the Shi’ate doctrine in the country."
No, the above is incorrect. We all know the SIC does not control the media. It is Jammeh that issued this fatwa and hiding behind the SIC for reasons only known to him. Jammeh and the SIC needs to stop this foolishness. This letter originated from the Dept. of State for Religious affairs directed by Yaya and to be rubber stamped by the SIC.
"The Gambia Supreme Islamic Council (GSIC) decided to order all print and electronic media houses..."
Since when did the SIC started to order anyone? Also, since when did the SIC advise Yaya on Islam? For example, did the sick utter a word when Yaya stated that he heals the sick with his supernatural powers from his grandfather and the Koran. A statement that would have been blastphemy if it were to come from any other Gambian Muslim. Also, when there was a divergence of views on the actual date of the Ids, Oga threatened them with jail time, and they since have their ducks lined up. So, it is laughable that the SIC is posturing like they running something.
Is this a sign that Oga fell apart with Elvis from Iran? Elvis is a Shiite, so it will be interesting to see what the response will be from his Iranian handlers. Being the leach he is, may be he figured out Uncle Chavez has his back for now. Could there be "Crude Oil #4"? Yaya has wrecked all institutions in the Gambia and the only option left to the people is to stand up.
I hope "Action Man" has not begun mailing him Coca leave products from 'Zeula. The boyz are really trying, especially when they are high above on something.

The directive came in the wake of growing concerns about the apparent differences in the Islamic faith in the country. Below is the full text of the press release:The Gambia Supreme Islamic Council (GSIC) decided to order all print and electronic media houses through your able office to stop all programmes advocating and defending the Shi’ate beliefs in The Gambia, with immediate effect, in accordance with its mandate as the principal advisor of government on matters of Islam and the umbrella of the Islamic Institutions in The Gambia.

"He also said when the whites wanted to bring any nonsense into the country, they pass through one so-called Islamic scholar who he said had studied electrical engineering in Libya, someone who he said did not even expect to be an imam but as he complained, the SIC is seeing all these but are keeping quiet about it." "Oga de Garwalleh"! Why does he not just call Imam Leigh by name instead of trying to get to Afdie from Albert market by going through Basse, first? Watch out Baba, Oga dey eye you ooh! I am just laughing my head off just imagining the SIC scrambling with their Nyetta or Geromi Abdou trying to issue a fatwa. "Bor Yareh Mborr Yow La Njeka Dan". Yaya is not right though, he must have figured these fellows "Nyemenun Tangatt", thus, he is threatening them with farm labor with no food or water breaks. :-)! He did not just stop there, but he also promised them the PIU with "Lemarr, purr Chow Gayni". This boy is a mess. Folks, I'll have to save this draft until I can compose myself because I cannot control my laughter. Ok, I'm back. "Haleh Bu Yaradekou ak Mak ju Nyaka Faidaa Andaa". They could have saved themselves from this humiliation if they did what they were supposed to do first, to speak truth to the injustices that is the order of the day. Now it is their turn and watch them scurry around. You think Wade can mess with the religious order in Senegal, this way? Why you think Osama is still hiding in Pakistan? If one is a religious leader for sale, he who pays the piper will control the tune. It is no surprise that these fellows take their marching orders from Yaya, and if one did not believe it then, now you have the evidence. True to form though, watch them pray even harder for the Borom Dekah Bi. Religious tolerance, acceptance and recognition is a MUST, the same way that racial/tribal/cultural recognition is a MUST as exemplafied by the holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW). The latest from Jammeh proves to all and sundry that Jammeh's state of mind is truly questionable and unstable. > > > > The saying that 'what goes around comes around' is a living utterance. For too long, some of the SIC members hasn't condemned Jammeh's outrageous deeds. Imams and priests are also guardians of communities. In their sermons, it should reflect the daily occurences within the regions, especially oppression on the innocent citizenry which marred the Gambian state since Jammeh's emmergence to power . Failure to do so, terror will creep further not only at silencing their voices but also lash them with the scary electric broom.> > > > I only hope Gambians and their friends in all works of lives will begin to take charge of their destiny, instead of waiting till Jammeh's aggression gets to them. I would perfectly think 'prevention is better than cure.' In our hal pular culture, I often heard an idiomatic expression, thus: "If it takes you long to cry or shed tears, start pulling your facial muscles before getting to the funeral of a love one."> > > > Wasalam,> YJ> > > _________________________________________________________________> Time for vacation?
