It was a simple search on google with the search phrase; "turn off real
message center real player" that did it.

I took my own advice and turned the darn thing off

True democracy in action is when you can set up your own computer the way
you want it.

Or what we would say in the decade of the sixties: "Doing my thing" or " t's
my bag"

: Thanks for the specific instructions for turning off message center.
Often,
: we know intuitively that we can make these changes, but the amount of
: exploring necessary can get just too tedious, so exact instructions
: occasionally are just the ticket. I too prefer Real Player in spite of
the
: fact it has gone out of vogue. Windows Media for me is the essence of
: tedium and frustration.

:
: How do I turn off Real Message Center?
: Real Message Center is really annoying. You can turn it off and still keep
: Real Player, or you can delete Real Player and install a better media
player
: such as Real Alternative instead.
:
: How to Turn Off Real Message Center
: a.. Click the Start button
: b.. Click the Run menu item
: c.. Type "realplay" and click the OK button
: d.. Inside RealPlayer, click the Tools menu
: e.. Click the Preferences menu item
: f.. On the left menu, click Automatic Services
: g.. Click the Configure Message Center button
: h.. Uncheck Check for new messages
: i.. Uncheck Show Message Center icon in the System Tray
:  j.. Click the OK
:  k.. Click Yes
:  l.. Close Real Player

:: Doreen,
::
:: The Real Message Center is a component of the Real One player that is
:: installed on your computer. The RealOne player plays the Real Media
files
:: that you can find on some web sites. These ifles usually end in .rm or
:: .ram. It is not as popular as it used to several years ago. You can
feel
:: free to uninstall the program. If you have to play real media files, you
:: can search for and install the Real Alternative that is much smaller and
:: much less intrusive.
::
:: Hope this helps

:: Hi folks:
:: I keep getting this program (I presume it's a program) called Real
Message
:: Centre on my task bar. It appears to contain messages. Anyone know what
:: I'm talking about?
:: I am using JAWS 6 and Windows XP.
:: Thanks.
