Thanks to everyone who responded! I'm sorry I wasn't able to reply to each of you personally, but we were on a tight schedule. We took our trip last weekend and had an easy time of eating GF.
Here are some replies to my original post:
In Baltimore, which is close to Linthicum: A pastry shop specializing in gluten-free breads, cake and pastries: see www.TenzoArtisan.com
As far as gluten-free restaurants, there are several in the Inner Harbor in Baltimore which have gluten-free menus (PF Changs, Fogo de Chao), and one up in North Baltimore called Woodberry Kitchen.
In the Baltimore suburbs, there is a café/bakery called Freedom Bakery.
There are some stores which carry GF products. The closest to Linthicum might be David's Natural Market in gambrills. I think that there is one in Severna Park called the Good Life or something like that. If you can get out to Clarksville, there is a big store called Roots Market. And downtown in the Inner Harbor, there is a Whole Foods.
There is an Outback near by and also in Hanover MD is Arundel Mills a large shopping area. There is a Safeway with glutenfree foods, a super Walmart and a Panera for salads and there are several health foods store 25 mins. away.
There is a PF Changs in Columbia and Annapolis about 30 mins. away, Annapolis has a large Whole Foods, a great diner and lots of restaurants that try to help.
There are numerous Safeway grocery stores in the area and they all tend to have a pretty good selection of GF food. In Annapolis there is a huge new Whole Foods. There is also a Trader Joe's. Area restaurants include a BoneFish at Glen Burnie Mall. There are several Outback Steakhouses in the area as well. Cheesburger in Paradise on Ritchie Hwy. in Glen Burnie has a GF menu. The area has tons of seafood restaurants which are very accommodating as well.
