Chicago Restaurant Partners and McCormick Place Receive
Gluten-Free Food Service Accreditation
(CHICAGO - April 18, 2009) Today the Gluten Intolerance Group of North
America presented Chicago Restaurant Partners and McCormick Place Convention
Center a certificate of Gluten-Free Food Service Accreditation for the Care
Free Cafe, as part of the Thrive Allergy and Gluten-free Expo. McCormick
Place is the first convention center to undergo this certification process
by GIG. Chicago Restaurant Partners plans to continue working with GIG to
expand the accreditation to locations through the McCormick Place complex.
Gluten-Free Food Service Accreditation is a program of GIG that works with
food services of all types to meet core Best Practices for safe gluten-free
food production and service. Food service providers who meet these strict
standards are able to document knowledge, training, and processes that will
provide customer confidence in the establishment's understanding of their
needs and ability to prepare safe meals for them. Food service providers
who meet these strict standards are committed to being proactive in a
reactive industry by setting the highest standards in food production and customer
service for the health needs of the gluten intolerant consumer.
