Hi David,
personally I am surprised that there is a netbook which is using
onboard Ethernet, other the run-of-the-mill ubiquotus-el cheapo Realtek
device.
May I know, if you have time :
1. the brand and type of the netbook
2. output of the "lspci" and "lsusb" of the netbook under Ubuntu
