No not in this case. The computer needs to have a power pack rated at
the same output voltage and "A" or amperage that it requires. Higher
amperage is ok but the voltage must be the same.

The laptop draws current from the power pack when plugged in. The laptop
also tries to recharge the battery at the same time if needed. The
biggest draw of current is when the computer is running and charging the
battery. As the battery becomes charged the draw from the power pack
will diminish.
The mistake was getting to small of a power pack. Get the right rated
one and hopefully the computer is ok. Good luck.
