What are the keys that you are trying to delete? Perhaps this may point to
an answer as to why they keep coming back. There were some keys like that in
Windows NT that separated the workstation from the server versions. Changing
a key from workstation to that of a server would have it go back to the
previous state.

Thanks for the suggestion, Bob.  I downloaded both of these and tried them,
but the entries came back both times, just as they did with Registry
Mechanic.  I still think that I need to delete the stuff in the registry,
but the key permissions prevent me from doing that.
