Video-sharing site for disabled channels the power of YouTube
As part of Quebec's 12th annual week dedicated to the disabled, June 1 to 7, a
Montreal group has launched a website modelled after YouTube, the world's most
popular video- sharing site.


www.WebbyTalents.com is the name of the new website, which is designed to break
down barriers for the world's handicapped. It borrows popular YouTube features,
including video ratings and comments.


"It's a new adventure," said Franck Goldberg, 52, a Montrealer who designed the
website along with Christine Martin, 53, and Ryan Closs, 40, also of Montreal.


Yesterday the site, which can be navigated in both English and French, showcased
videos posted by handicapped individuals from across Canada, the United States,
France and Brazil.


Among them is a video clip featuring Vancouver Mayor Sam Sullivan talking to CBC
comedian Rick Mercer that was first televised on CBC's The Mercer Report.
Sullivan broke his neck while skiing at the age of 19 and is a quadriplegic.
