Hi Tom,
Does the longer cord not connected to anything have the female 8 pin on one
end and the modular RJ45 on the other or did he give you the adapter from 8
pin to modular? I'm just curious. John's info on where the plugs go is
right.
Take care and very 73.
Kevin :)

Subject: Need help with MC60 mic connections
Hi, all.
Well, today, I finalized the trade I was talking about involving my old
plain Icom 746, for a slightly-used TS480, which includes a correctly wired
MC60 desk mic.
But now, I need some orientation to the MC60 desk mic.
On the right-hand side of the mic stand, there's a wire coming out with an
8-pin plug on it, but on the back left-hand corner of the mic stand, there's
another 8-pin female connector. In the box with the mic, there's a cable
that has an 8-pin male connector on it, and the standard Kenwood mic
connector on the other.
Can someone tell me what goes where?
I certainly could call the guy who I did the swap with, but thought you guys
might give me a better orientation.
Just don't want to do something that would risk hurting anything.
