    The original Ic-746 may be different, but I know that the 746PRO
uses a standard Icom OPC-478.  This serial cable works with their
handheld transceivers.  According to a message I received on the
ic746 list, it will also work fine with the 746PRO if you
Plug a Stereo to mono 1/8 inch adaptor on the end of it.
The OPC-478 costs $34.95 plus shipping from Universal-radio.  There are
also OPC-478 compatible cables from the following sources:
