Hi Chris
Make an opportunity to try them both if you can.  I think you will 
understand the difference.
A few years ago a friend and I wento to A E S in Milwaukee.  Brian 
had just retured and was looking for a new h f transceiver.  We tried 
the 756PRO and the fancy Yaesu - the PRO had it hands down for good 
sound and intuitive operation.  Not quite perfect, but Icom is 
getting it pretty close to right.
