I really thought that I was flash in the 70s when I upgraded from the
DX100/AR88 combination to an NCX5!
Both had superb audio - I am now 100 per cent CW!

Subject: Fw: [buddy-l] old rigs

 Hi Guys,
My first rig was the Kenwood TS520. That was an ultra modern rig in the
mid
 70's.

I visited a friend in Fort Walton Beach and he had a National NCX3. He let
me use it. What an experience that was. I was used to a side tone in my
Kenwood. In the National, the hum on the power supply had to be used.
