Independent living aids has the Kelvin talking thermostat, which you can 
talk too and it will read back your temperature and time. Karen and I did a 
podcast of it on

I have heard of a programmable talking thermostat, but I don't know where
you can get it.  Try "Speak to Me," and see if they carry it.  I believe
