Corn syrup and Nalcrom

I have two separate questions:
1)does any one else have a problem with corn syrup or corn oil? (Not
that it is a gluten reaction, just an allergy or something else) I have
never been able to tolerate either. Please respond to me personally if
you have the same problem.

2)When I was younger, I would take a pill called "Nalcrom" at birthday
parties everyonce in a while so I could eat everything. It wasn't
designed specifically for Celiac, but some doctor in England had said it
somehow prevented a gluten reaction - I can't remember exactly how. While
I have stopped taking it because I'm not sure it works and because I
don't want to mess up my stomach, it did seem to work (at least I never
got stomach sick; I always seemed to get a cold after I took it though) I
would be insterested if anyone else had heard of this and can explain to
me whether it works at all, etc. Thanks.
