This may seem a trivial question but why is the word disease used in
connection with celiac. Personally I feel I have a live long condition
but I don't have a "disease" . It isn't in many ways a disease in the
typical sense of the word. I'm guessing it was a label that was put on
the condition before it was better understood. I find I awkward
sometimes when people ask what is wrong with me and I say I have celiac
disease. People think if you have a disease, you are sick but I'm not
sick ( or a least not very often), so I just say I'm a celiac and I can't
eat anything containing flour (Gluten would be too hard to explain) and
they think it's some kind of wierd religion. So you can't win!! :-]

If celiac disease is an outdated term, is there a better one or can
someone suggest a better one? I've seen the term " the diet from HELL"
used on the list, we could start from there!
