I've only recently been buying the Chebe bread mix...onion and garlic, dairy-free. I've used it for franks in jackets with no problem, but sometimes when I make breadsticks out of it, they come out rock hard. Any suggestions? Maybe I didn't knead it long enough. I don't use a mixer. I mix it all by hand. (This week, I added onion flakes to the dough. Not much, just a couple of tablespoonsful, maybe less.)
And idea how to keep the dough chewy enough that I won't break a tooth?
