Interesting bit of info...When first purchased, clams and and oysters are put in a bath to flush out sand.  Usually this is done with the additon of cornmeal, but I noticed the the BAREFOOT CONTENSSA used FLOUR. 

So, if you order clams or oysters out, you'd be wise to ask what was used to flush them out.  

Must admit, the Barefuoot Contessa is the first I've come across who uses flour, but you never know.
