Hi everyone


I was asked to summarize about advice I received for eating gluten-free, milk-free, and egg-free in Greece. Thanks for the responses.

Gluten free is not too hard in Greece (for adults). They serve a lot of fresh grilled meats and fish, salads, rice, and the fries are generally safe. However, be warned that hamburger without the bun is not a safe option. Hamburger patties in Greece are almost universally prepared with "rusk" (dry breadcrumbs, as well as eggs and seasonings).


Eating GF DF is pretty easy in Greece. Everything is cooked in olive oil, so you don't have to worry about butter. Fresh fish and chicken are easily identifiable options available at most restaurants. Most of the dolmades come in an aioli-type cream sauce, containing both eggs and dairy. Also, be careful of the gyro stands...you can get kabobs, etc, but they grill pita on the same grill as the chicken.


I ate mostly vegetables and fruits in both places.  Breakfast was hardest as there was a lot of bread and cereal.  I didn't have to watch milk or egg so I got by.  I took protein bars and my cereal.  It sure came in handy. Do take plenty of snacks with you.
