Thanks - I know it's not paleo but I take homeopathics that are extracted
with grain alcohol. This hasn't bothered me but this week I have had a
headache every day since Tuesday (also on Sunday but not Monday) as well as
a backache and I have noticed that pollen counts are fairly high right now.
Nothing else has changed like diet, lotions, detergents, etc. and we change
our air filter religiously. We also relocated to TN from TX in December.
Everybody in Austin told me that I would eventually suffer from allergies
because they are so bad there but I never did. Now I have been told that
it's worse here and different altitudes, climates, and more can affect
allergies.
I just would like to know where the headaches and backaches are coming from.
If it's something I am doing/not doing/eating/drinking, then obviously I
want to change it.

There is very little "grain" left in grain alcohol after fermentation
and distillation, but it's hard to know for sure since some organic
substances /do/ remain at least in trace amounts.
But grain alcohol, as any strong alcoholic beverage, is not paleo.
One can argue that some fermented fruit beverages such as maybe
apple cider are paleo in some sense... after all even cows like
to eat "spoiled" apples for the alcohol they contain. But anything
that's distilled clearly isn't.
