if it hasn't been discussed recently, i'd like to know what the general
consensus is on the broda barnes and wilson's syndrome theories of
treating hypothyroid.

Dr. Barnes has both a PhD in Physiology and an MD. He had conducted several
studies about thyroid's effects on other organ systems. Most of his studies
might be considered by many physicians of today as outdated, but who
cares-- the profession knew how to treat it effectively over since 100 years
ago. Dr. Barne's protocol of using Basal Temperature in confirming
hypothyroid symptoms is backed by his observation of thousands of patients
undergoing the BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) test during his career-- the
temperature test being a requirement prior to doing the BMR. In most
instances he found out that the Basal Temperature confirmed what the BMR
diagnosed as hypometabolic and diagnosed what the BMR missed.

Hope this helps..

Greg
