Some things that may also play a role in the less that perfect response to
the Armour alone include: Associated adrenal dysfunction-not enough
hydrocortisone and thyroid hormones don't work right much of the time; A problem with too
much T4 being converted to reverse T3 instead of T3. ("Wilson's Thyroid
Syndrome") I never used to believe in that one, but the model holds up very nicely.
Highlights include a low average body temperature, being of Scottish, Irish,
Welsh, Native American, or Eastern European descent. Basically, having
ancestors who survived a lot of famines. Wilson's Thyroid Syndrome is usually
initiated by or exacerbated by some stress such as childbirth, accident, home or work
stress, death of a loved one, excessive dieting.

With this condition, the usual treatment is T3 in an extended release form,
rather than mixing the two kinds of thyroid replacement.
