This is not strictly correct.

The antenna system was designed by Lou Varney (G5RV) and the tuner was part
of the antenna system, with the L network being an important part of the
antenna design.
Hence, if coaxial cable is put between the tuner and the ladder line, then
technically it ceases to be a G5RV and becomes a centre fed doublet with
ladder line feeder.

Depending upon exactly your configuration its between 27 and 31 feet for the
ladder line on a 104ft g5rv.  Of course, in the original British version the
ladder line connected directly to the tuner but because of rf problems etc.
we
usually use a cable to connect with some kind of choke.
