Hi.

If the TS180S is like my TS130S, there probably wasn't a dropping resistor 
for the headphones so you probably could connect the speaker through the 
headphone jack with the appropriate adaptor.  I am surprised, though, 
because the TS180S was pretty cutting edge in its day, and Kenwood had lots 
of accessories for it.  I'd be surprised if they didn't make a matching 
speaker for that radio, as it was definitely NOT a bottom of the line 
radio--that would have been the TS120S, or TS520S.  The TS180S was 
substantially more expensive.  I looked at it when I was first licensed, 
but the price was out of reach for a college student at S.U.
