Tom, my bats are under the steps right in front of the dining area so the 
power cord reaches. also.   If it did not I would extend the cord with maybe 
number 10 wire through a fuse.   I have solar cells, 250 watts on top of the 
M H so things stay pretty well charged.  If not you can run a charger from 
the 120 volts on the outside of the coach by running the on board generator. 
The generator through the Inverter don't put much charge to the bats so a 
outboard charger works very well if needed.
