Hi Tom.

I think you are only going to get opinions until you put your hands on the
rigs and judge for yourself. That being said, I'll offer my opinion,
anyway. First of all, let me put the question of accessibility between the
two rigs into perspective. When you are talking about accessibility, in my
estimation, the difference between the TS2000S and the TS480S is the
difference between "very good" and "excellent." I wouldn't turn a '2000
down on the basis of accessibility because you really can use the radio
very well, even if everything doesn't voice through the synthesizer.

Also, with respect to the VHF/UHF question, another way to look at it might
be that now you only need one radio instead of two. If you are going to
run a DC to daylight radio, the TS2000S has a lot to offer, and the front
end on the VHF/UHF bands is tougher than most in the high intermod
areas. But it does have a large footprint by today's standards. The
TS2000S has really nice transmit audio, though, and I for one want to put
out the best signal possible.

So, I guess I would cast my vote for the TS2000S.
