Kendall and all,
We used to have this water-ski thingie called an "Air Chair". I can't
open Meir's links (at work), but could this fellow make it into
something like this?:
http://www.airchair.com/products/air_chairs/standard.htm
I don't think they make the kind we had anymore, but it had two skis
instead of just one wide slalom ski and there was a real "chair" seat as
well. I used to take a buddy of mine skiing on the thing who was a T-5
para. It was an absolute hoot 'cause you'd ride three feet above the
water and because it was a hydrofoil it was easy as pie to get up on
plane--though the fall from that height doing 25-30 mph was kind of an
ouchie. What the hell--we all had some sort of head/spinal injury
anyway. :-P

Meir,
This is a great idea! I've seen cross country ski chairs, and have
used a bi-ski for downhill skiing, but a multipurpose chair with
interchangeable adaptations might make them affordable for
individuals. As it is, rental on a bi-ski and the lift ticket and a
tether person is around $80.00/day, which means I can only afford to
do it about twice a year. (I've also got to go to Colorado where the
equipment is available....

An unreasonable man (but my wife says that's redundant!)
The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one
persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all
progress depends on the unreasonable man.
