Hi:

I don't know of anyone using the vertical to date, but one subscriber to
this list uses one of the yagis.

Having read a great deal of these antennas over the last few weeks, I
suspect that the vertical is the same as the yagi insofar that once the
antenna is resonated in your environment to the chosen frequencies, when
moving to that frequency again, the point of resonance is automatically
adopted by the antenna control unit.

I gather that in the early days of installation of the antenna that some
fluctuation may occur, so some collaboration with a sighted helper may be
needed in the initial and early setup of the system.

I must say that I have no direct personal experience at the moment, but I am
seriously contemplating a vertical for my home location, and a yagi at my
alternative location which I trust will eventually my retirement home.

HTH

David

Hi folks;
I'm still wondering if anyone has had any hands on experience with the
steppir verticals? I'm not certain if the tuning is totally automatic other

than a band switch or if it requires you to watch your swr indicator for
minimum swr.
