Hi, Skipper :)
Incidentally, Wilson says his treatment will work on any hypothyroid,
including those with Hashimoto's.
Thanks for the information on Wilson's. Is your wife better now that she has had this treatment? No regressions?
Even though I've only got mild adrenal insufficiency, I seem to have had
several symptoms linked to Addison's Disease
You say you had several symptoms linked to Addison's Disease-do you have Addison's? Did these symptoms resolve on your current medications?
A long time ago, Greg Guzman emailed me a site that stated that two German
researchers believed "Dysarthria is a primary sign of hypothyroidism."
Whoa... This is a new way to look at this particular problem. Do you have any research or links on the effects of hypothyroidism on speech? I would be very interested in seeing them.
I'm not sure if I had a form of APD, but I wasn't an active participant in
group discussions because I always had to process information before I could
respond. It's like someone would be speaking and I could absorb information
well, but it took a few extra seconds in order to actually give a response if it
was necessary. In group discussion, by that time the point has changed.
Your problem sounds like deficits in processing speed. True APD is not curable-we come up with coping strategies.
My son had his hearing tested by the school before he started kindergarten.
The technician didn't believe he could hear some of the pitches that he said
he heard. But, at the zoo, he practically ran away from the sound of goats,
because he couldn't stand to hear their pitch. The sensitivity to sound seems
to have gone away with thyroid treatment.
Excellent! Glad to hear it :)
One thing I have noted in the last 3 weeks. I developed a minor cold during Christmas holidays-nothing of note except the usual hoarseness came with it. Well the cold lingers a slight bit in the form of a runny nose, but the hoarseness is not letting up at all. It goes from rasping like a bull-frog to no voice at all. Does anyone else have this? Is there a way to get rid of it? I drink 3 quarts of water a day, so it's not dehydration. Also, I have a split lip that is not healing-very tiresome.
Thanks, Skipper :)
Laurie
