Skipper,
Thank you for your response. Very sorry to hear of your son's, and
wife's conditions. People with endocrine insufficiency go through so
much before diagnosis, don't they?
If a tsh of '4' is reasonable from an endo's point of view, then I guess
I can wait a bit longer. But I had so much to ask him regarding my ACTH
levels and DHEA replacement, that I forgot to tell him some symptoms
that began in August/September. Over two/three months, I gained a
pretty quick twelve to fourteen pounds. (Appetite is still good,
actually too good, maybe due to my corticosteroid replacement though.)
At the same time, or a bit before, blood pressure rose from 110/76 to
130-something/90. THAT is very strange for an addisonian, usually very
low. Skin is also much dryer than usual, even for the winter. All
this, with tsh just 2 points higher than before, and the Same Level of
Free T4 results in bloodtests. is this a bit weird? It seems I
shouldn't have any hypo symptoms until T4 is insufficient.... or does a
rising TSH cause them first?
I asked to wait only 3 months for my next endo visit. (Normally with
addisons it is every 6 months.) So at least I can impart to him sooner,
what I forgot to say last week!
your thoughts appreciated~
Holly
